I was in my Mansfield, Connecticut office reviewing the removal of wisdom teeth with a patient when on the TV in my reception room the announcement came that a plane had hit the North Tower. Everyone seemed in shock, and many of us cried. I dismissed patients, cancelled scheduled ones, and closed the office. One of my daughters lived and worked in Manhattan and another daughter had occasional meetings in the Twin Towers. Paulie and I were able to contact both, and, to our great relief, found them safe. The one who lived in Manhattan had been on her way to work and had heard the first explosion.
Paulie and I grieved for those who had lost loved ones as a result of the dastardly act.
